The letter is written on a burgundy background in this example, and filled in metallic gold ink.

The gold letter H is outlined in black ink to help it stand out from the red background and give a little more definition.

For effect, the gold swirls have been added at key points around the illuminated letter to fill the red square design.

The illuminated letter can be written in any colours you choose. It doesn't even have to be metallic... we can have anything from a silver letter on a green background to a white letter on a black background. Just ask!
